I want to use the tach output lug on the msd 6al. Unplugged the tachometer the next day and the whole motor runs better, like the tach was causing a misfire somewhere.

Well i lucked out again the vdo tach is still good so i'll be using that. I am looking for a good tach to use with the msd 6al. Unless your tach is designed to trigger on the msd 12v output it wont work.

Please ber aware, the y connector is a good, workable solution, but, if the tach isn't working correctly, you might have to add an msd tach adapter to the tach part of the wire feed off the y.
